Former Military hospital in Josefov (Jaroměř)

Jaroměř, Czech Republic

Military hospital. Built between 1785 and 1787. It could accommodate up to 1.200 sick and wounded patients at a time. During World War II, it served as barracks for the 7th Battalion of the government army and as a Wehrmacht military hospital. After liberation, the complex once again served as a hospital. From 1968 to 1991, the hospital was occupied by the Soviet Army. The building now stands vacant and decaying
